WYCOFF, N.J. – John R. Tierney, 63, of Wycoff, died Sunday, Nov. 29. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in Wycoff for 23 years.
Tierney was the post-production director/senior at Creative Bubble, which he co-founded in New York City. During his illustrious career, Tierney won 14 National Emmys, the most recent in 2015 for Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing, Sesame Street. He brought his innovative talent to more than 75 broadcast shows and hundreds of commercials.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Joellen; his devoted son, John J. Tierney; his mother, Anne J. Tierney; his sister Laura Tierney-Moran, her husband Robert; and his nieces Jeanne and Caroline Moran. He also will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father John P. Tierney in 1997.
The family will receive friends on from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. A funeral service and a time of sharing will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
